Brighter Days Do Come

Zephaniah 3:17

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty warrior who saves He will take great delight in you. In his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

What God wants for us all is peace and stability and achieving those two things can be a high price to pay but is well worth it in the eyes of our good Father. As his children he wants us to grow, increasing our knowledge of his heart and each day he is working to mold us further into his image. I know the mighty hand of God and his comfort. I am all too familiar with circumstances so extreme that no one can comfort me except God himself, and such harsh winters of life that seem to continue inviting themselves abruptly into my life without notice. You can never be fully prepared for certain sufferings. But we can remember that “For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning it’s shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2). Surely there is joy at the end and comfort all the more. It is like our Father to provide those two things. Most importantly we must remember that there is nothing we are experiencing which he himself is not familiar with. “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)
