Depression is something that often goes unmentioned in Christian settings, and when it is mentioned, it is often addressed with the application of vague solutions such as “rebuke the devil”, or “take a stand against the enemy and fight him with the sword of the spirit”. Those who suffer the monster that is depression are rarely given the benefit of the doubt. Christians hardly understand that sometimes it is still there once all is done, and one has prayed until their knees ache and their hands are blistered from the posture of prayer. What if you are living your most holy life and depression still finds itself creeping into your midst? Then what? If this is your plight, know that I have been there. It is real. Nothing can really be said to the suffering at times. What I can say is that God has been faithful in my life to bring me out each time, and more importantly He stoops down and meets me in the darkest pits that no human has been willing to meet me in. No friend, no man, no family, no fellowship has been able to comprehend my suffering at times. Only God has been able to meet me when the situation has gotten dark enough. I cannot give wisdom, there just isn’t always instruction for these particular types of circumstances. I want to hug you!! For now I will recommend you some songs that have brought life into my situation and strengthened me to connect with God, when no one else could.
