City life
Here I find myself at the very heartbeat
Of Denver
Sprinting relentlessly across busy streets and flagging buses down
Opening maps and learning that Google actually does have a GPS navigator for us foot travelers
What a good thing!
I have no sense of North, South, East or West
My mother always taught me that the mountains sit West
But in the density of an uptown city skyline that leaves nothing in view beyond it except clouds and stars
There is no relying on the mountains
I catch my breath
Board the bus
It’s pouring rain
The driver skids through the puddles and catches a glimpse of someone hopeless who just missed him
The guy flips the driver off
The driver stops anyway
A greater sense of Humanity.
